10 Mind Blowing Optical Illusions

03:59
Amazing Optical illusions that will tease your brain Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Flat 3rd Dimension and Following eyes video by Brusspup Description: One of the most fascinating organs in our body is the human brain. You could say that it is central control, or headquarters for our body. Without our brain, we are not alive. The brain is where our consciousness lives and our memories are preserved. If we are considered “brain dead”, then the plug gets pulled on our life support. It is a complex organ of fatty tissue, and the brain helps us process different kinds of information through our five sense. Using our nose, the brain can tell us whether we are experiencing a pleasant smell or something foul. With our ears, the brain can help us process the noises we are hearing and be able to tell the difference from language to noises. With our mouth, the brain helps us figure out whether the food we are eating is good for us and not poisonous. Finally, with our eyes, the brain helps us process the information we are seeing visually. Our brain and our eyes have a beautiful relationship by letting us see colors, nature, people, and more, along with associate these visions with emotions. With such wondrous capabilities, it can be easy to just assume and trust that what our eyes are telling us is true. Well, not exactly. In the last several centuries, optical illusions have been playing tricks with our brain and causing us to question what is real and what is fiction. Optical illusions can be created by Mother Nature, or they can be manmade, thus creating an entire art dedication to optical illusions and messing with our brain and everything that we know about the world around us. With the innovation and evolution of optical illusions, we are now getting confused more often than ever before! People have even dedicated their lives and support themselves from creating their own optical illusions. These artists even get a kick from us stepping on their painting and thinking that we are about to descend into a multiple story fall, but instead, our foot remains on solid ground. This video has ten of the most mind blowing optical illusions. They are so crazy that you would think that they were simply a trick of the camera or computer. What makes these optical illusions extra special is the fact that they play with your perception using colors, angles, light, shapes, sizes, and more. Our eyes have been conditioned and groomed to see certain things by the way the light hits an object, or by the way and angle is seen by our eyes. Reality can be manipulated so many ways by a simple tilt of the head or a beam of light, or a splash of color. By breaking down why you are seeing the optical illusion in the first place, we can start descending upon the bridge of understanding. Probably one of the most unsettling things about optical illusions is that the seed of doubt can bleed over to our normal everyday lives and cause us to question everything by just looking outside. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring: FLAT 3RD DIMENSION FOLLOWING EYES BACKWARDS CHAIR DROP OFF ROOM ANIMATION ILLUSION THE AMES ROOM MOTION ILLUSIONS CIRCLE ILLUSION YES-NO THE DRESS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music Track: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

I also found http://youtu.be/FNXmuakUi4M to help refresh my memory, and then made a few of my own changes to make the swan look better and more attractive. I got the inspiration for using seeds as eyes in this video: http://youtu.be/jg6sWO3z0BQ WARNING: Use of video content is at own risk. There may be risks associated with these projects that require adult supervision. Project History & More Info: I remembered someone showing me how to make an apple into a swan while I was in England in 2001. I can't remember who it was though, and I just remember that it was a nice try, and although the wings looked cool, and head and neck were terrible. I really liked the idea though, so I spent an entire day cutting up apples in different ways to see if I could make it better. I also saw a video online where someone used apple seeds to make eyes (http://youtu.be/jg6sWO3z0BQ) which was really awesome, so I tried to incorporate that in. I ended up with this method for making the apple swan, which I think really looks incredible, and we ended up putting them on display for some dinner guests we had that night.

Self Freezing Coca-Cola (The trick that works on any soda!)

03:18
Take any bottle of soda, and get it to freeze on command! This “super cool" trick works with cans of soda as well. To date, I haven't seen any tutorials on exactly how to get this "self-freezing coke" effect, so I'm excited to release this video in response to thousands of viewer requests. Check out the 42 second version: (QC#13 - Instant Slushy!) http://youtu.be/55N1SDcFaXY Try this trick with water (Waterbending In Real Life): http://youtu.be/sQdLttUh_b0 Detailed Tips & Tricks for making "Instant Ice": http://youtu.be/7o8moFSHrAQ Subscribe for new videos posted Randomly! http://bit.ly/TKoRSubscribe Join my email list! http://bit.ly/TKOREmailList For other project videos, check out http://www.thekingofrandom.com Social Media Links: Google+: http://bit.ly/plusgrant Facebook: http://bit.ly/FBTheKingOfRandom Instagram: http://bit.ly/InstaGrant Twitter: http://bit.ly/tweetgrant Pinterest: http://bit.ly/pingrant Tumblr: http://bit.ly/grantstumblr Business Inquiries: For sponsorship requests or business opportunities please contact me directly: http://www.youtube.com/thekingofrandom/about Endcard Links: Waterbending: http://bit.ly/Waterbending Power Of The Sun: http://bit.ly/BurningSolarPower Dry-Ice Cream: http://bit.ly/DryIceCream Making Butter: http://bit.ly/ShakingButter Music By: http://www.MachinimaSound.com (Remember The Dreams) Project Inspired By: The viral YouTube video: "How to Chill A Coke In just a second!!" (http://youtu.be/ngt74e1DxPU) and the process of nucleation was inspired by "Self-Freezing Coke - Crazy from Kong!" http://youtu.be/j07SweYJTSM. WARNING: Leaving soda in the freezer too long can result in failure of the container, and a big mess. Glass bottles are not recommended, as the ice expands when freezing and can shatter the glass explosively. Use of video content is at own risk. Project History & More Info: I knew water could be turned to instant ice (http://youtu.be/sQdLttUh_b0), but was amazed to see that soda could be supercooled as well. The anomaly of "self freezing soda" has been observed by many people, usually by accident. Some people put a soda in the freezer to chill it, but then forget about it. When they've remembered and gone to get it, it's liquid until they open it, leaving them puzzled. Some people have noticed the effect by leaving the soda outside in cold temperatures. There is a vending machine in Hong Kong that sells supercooled Coke bottles, and the instructions to trigger nucleation is the same as in this video, however they recommend taking a sip when the cap is on. I believe this is to increase the chances of impurities being introduced into the liquid, making nucleation more likely. From what I've seen, the results in this experiment form an even thicker slush than the vending machine in Hong Kong. To get this effect, I put 4 bottles of 500mL (16.9 oz) soda in a freezer set at -24ºC (-11ºF) between 3:15- 4:00 hours. The longer they are in, the more dramatic and solid the slushy freeze will be. However, anytime after 3:15 hours there is a chance of them freezing before you take them out. Every freezer will be a little different temperature, and I've noticed the location of your bottles in the freezer makes a dramatic difference on freeze times. For best results, choose one consistent location in your freezer, and play around with freeze times to see what works best for you. In my freezer, the middle of the center rack settles at -24ºC (-11ºF) and takes 3:15 to super chill 4 bottles. Remember that the longer the freezer door is open, the more cold air will escape, and it will make your freeze times take much longer because your freezer has to cool down again. I've also noticed that the more frozen items you have in your freezer, the faster your soda will chill. In contrast, the less items in your freezer, the longer your soda will take to cool. Bottom line is, use a consistent environment for your experiments, and you'll get consistent results! I also experimented with 2 litter bottles, and had great results between 4-5 hours. The whole bottle slushifies in an instant. I experimented with Gatorade, Fresca, Mexican Sprite, Rootbeer, Orange sodas, Coke, Diet Coke, in bottle form, as well as in cans. I had super cooled success with them all! The trick to getting the 3 second slush, is quickly releasing the pressure in the bottle and re-securing the cap, flipping the bottle upside down, and back upright again. This is because the forming ice crystals will be moved around the length of the bottle, and trigger nucleation for the rest of the soda. If you were to just take the cap off, ice will form, and it will slowly spread downward, but might take upwards of 2 minutes for the bottle to completely freeze. Removing the pressure very slowly from the bottle, can keep the soda liquified, and give you the choice opportunity to play with supercooled soda outside of the bottle.

If you check them out, please let them know that Grant Thompson sent you. Thanks! :) First was a “lost foam casting” tutorial by “The Art of Weapons” (http://bit.ly/IBRamboneSlingshot) and a Rubber Band gun designed by “RBGuns” (http://bit.ly/IBM9RubberBandGun). I modified the template from RBGuns to make the styrofoam mold. WARNING: Charcoal foundries can reach temperatures in excess of 1,000ºC, which is well above the melting point of hobbyists. This project should only be attempted with adequate knowledge and training, proper protective safety gear, and in a fire resistant area with adequate ventilation. The sparks flying from the foundry can ignite fires, and the fumes from burning dross can be toxic. Use caution and common sense. Be safe and have fun, but always remember that any project or experiment is at your own risk. Project History & More Info: The gun is solid aluminum, made from melted down soda cans. I spent over 100 hours of time, and 7 styrofoam prototypes to make this video. About a third of the time was spent filing and sanding the gun. Each time I poured a casting for the gun, the trigger guard wouldn’t complete all the way through, so I kept making new styrofoam guns, modifying the designs slightly until it worked. Once I got a fairly clean casting, I put 2 days into filing down rough points, and sanding them smooth. The gun could use a little more work, and it’s not perfect, but this experiment was mainly a proof of concept that nearly anything you can imagine can be made fairly easily with the “lost foam casting” technique. Overall, I really am happy with the gun though! It weighs 556 grams, and is really quite smooth to feel. For future projects, I plan to work more with green sand casting. I believe it will leave a nicer finish overall and won’t require as many prototypes to get it right :) Instead of foam, wood plugs can be used to make the molds, or even real weapons for that matter.

Since then, I've seen multiple videos on YouTube demonstrating the effect of supercooled water, and had multiple requests to make a video. WARNING: Use of video content is at own risk. Project History & More Info: I've never seen anyone pour super cooled water into another container, and initiate the freeze using an ice cube, so I really wanted to try that. The effect is seen in the blue glass, and the clear glass in the video and, in my opinion, was worth the effort! To get this effect, I put multiple unopened bottles of "PUREFLO" (http://www.pureflo.com) bottled water in the freezer for 2 hours and 45 minutes exactly. The purified water gets supercooled, and when it touches an ice crystal, it turns instantly to ice. It will also do this if the bottle is hit hard enough. This was a really fun project, and one of my favorites because it's safe, awe inspiring, and anyone can do it.

If you rely on the information portrayed in this video, you assume the responsibility for the results. Have fun, but always think ahead, and remember that every project you try is at YOUR OWN RISK. Project History & More Info: Who doesn't love gummy candy, and who doesn't love LEGO? 5 years ago I was fascinated with it, wondering how it was made, and what gave it its gummy texture. It feels so good on the teeth to bite into it, and my kids go crazy for them .. so I spent a bit of time researching how they're made commercially. My biggest motivation for doing this was to see if we could make our own at home, and I'm actually still trying to figure out how to make gelatin and corn syrup from scratch, so if I can figure out how to do that, maybe I'll show how to do it in another project video. Only a small handful of you have ever seen the LEGO Gummy video I made in 2010, and that's because it was nearly 5 years ago, before I really got serious about making videos. I took it off my channel in 2012 because I had full intentions of making a better version, so here it is .. 3 years later! :) Now I wanted to make candies that made people look twice, and LEGO bricks instantly came to mind because what's more awesome than LEGO and gummy put together? But I wasn't sure where could you get a mold for making LEGO bricks. Surfing around the internet, I stumbled across an awesome Instructable by SFHandyman: http://bit.ly/IBSFHandyman To my amazement, not only had he shown how to make a mold for making LEGO candy, he also made LEGO gummies as well! I played around with loads of variations in recipes to see what texture and tastes I liked the best. And I've kept experimenting off and on for the last 4 years, using my kids and wife for feedback. They gobble them up no matter what variations I use, but I've finally settled on 1/2 cup of very cold water, 1/4 cup of corn syrup, 2 packets of unflavored gelatin, and 1 pack of Jell-O. I've found that the corn syrup seems to help smooth out the texture and the taste. If you try making this recipe, it's very important to start the gelatin in cold water. Stir it up, then let it sit for 5 minutes before you turn on the heat. Otherwise, you'll get gobby clumps of undissolved gelatin in your syrup that doesn't look very appetizing. I originally made my silicone mold with a 2 part mix from a special effects supply company. I used real LEGO bricks set on a LEGO base, and built a makeshift retaining wall with bricks and play-dough. I don't plan to make a tutorial on how to make the mold, but I want to do a video on how to make a silicone mold in general. It's amazing to see how much detail the silicone can transfer to the final gummy products. If you look closely at my candies you can even see the little “LEGO” text on top of the gummy LEGO studs. To make sour gummies, we often add citric acid. They are incredible! But if you don't have citric acid, try taking SFHandyman's suggestion and add vitamin C. The citric and ascorbic acids in the vitamins sour them the same way, which actually makes them taste just as great, and enriches them with vitamin C as well.

Two HUGE Dilated Pores of Winer!!

07:43
A Dilated pore of Winer is essentially a large, solitary open comedone/blackhead. Dead skin cells get trapped and help widen this pore, and plugs up the opening. The expression of this plug squeezes out the macerated, white, soggy keratin/skin cells from the deeper portion of the pore. Once the content of the dilated pore is expressed, this whole process of the dilated pore filling once again with keratin is common. They are completely benign and are usually expressed for cosmetic reasons. A comedone extractor can be used to do this. Subscribe to my Dermatology educational channel, Dr Pimple Popper University! 10 Mind Blowing Facts About Twins

05:38
Top 10 amazing things you probably didn't know about identical, fraternal and siamese twins. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg When it comes to twins, seeing double goes much deeper than just appearances. Chances are that you know a set of twins, or you have met a person who says they are a twin. Our society has an odd fascination with twins, mainly because it is both weird and cool to see two sets of one person walking around school or work. Mainstream media has made twins seem like nearly alien-like creatures with special powers. There have been startling stories about twins such as they can feel each other’s emotions and know when the other is in trouble. While the twin phenomenon has been going on for thousands of years, many do not know all that much about twins. Doctors and scientists have been discovering fascinating breakthroughs in twin studies that make the phenomenon even more fascinating. For example, the idea of “twin talk”, or a pair of twins developing their own language isn’t that far-fetched. Doctors have discovered that twins will start to develop their own language while learning their native language. It sometimes happens by accident, but twins will actually practice their language skills with each other, which usually sounds like inverted words and gibberish. On the rare occasion, some sets of twins will continue to develop their own language and speak it in front of their friends and family, thus making them even more fascinating. If you have a case of conjoined twins, then these special people may actually share senses depending on where they are conjoined. Krista and Tatianna Hogan are conjoined through the thalamic bridge. When one is eating ketchup, the other twin is seen trying to get the taste out of their mouth. While one is watching television, the other one is laughing even though she can’t see the screen. Doctors have theorized that the girls share their senses even though they may be doing two totally different things at the same time. In the state of Massachusetts, it seems that the ratio of twins is much higher than the rest of the United States with a ratio of one set of twins per ever 4.5 live births. However doctors believe that this has more to do with fertility than genetics. In the state of Massachusetts, there are more career minded people living there who wait longer to have children, who later find out that it is no longer easy to get pregnant. Fertility drugs often result in twins. Speaking of genetics, scientists have been researching whether the existence of the “twin gene” is legitimate. While studying the different types of twins from fraternal to identical, researchers have found that fraternal twins seem to be more genetic thanks to women to hyper ovulate thanks to family history. Identical twins haven’t been linked to anything connected with genetics or family and seem to happen by chance. Finally, researchers have been trying to legitimize the “nature vs. nurture” argument by studying a pair of twins separated at birth who were both named James. Both men married and divorced women named Linda, and remarried women named Betty. This has caused to force people to wonder whether our lives are really written out in our genetics. There are more twin facts where this came from! Check out the video for more fascinating facts. The REAL Story Behind Hilarious Internet Memes

06:12
top 10 online popular memes and the funny backstory you didn't know about Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Other Videos You Might Like The Highest Insured Body Parts https://youtu.be/OkXXmtww_60 The Funniest TV Game Show Fails Of All Time! https://youtu.be/mCDmr1H7hbs Description: There’s a tremendous irony that exists at the core of meme culture. A web-savvy generation of people looking to use the online world as a platform for instant fame will spend countless hours attempting to piece together the right combination of funny piece of media and clever, irreverent quip to launch their meme to popular, widespread recognition. For all that effort, though, some of the best, most iconic memes on the internet were borne out of completely unintentional circumstances. Among the hundreds of thousands of photos shared around the web and on social media sites each day, there are bound to be some pretty good, interesting and noteworthy ones. Some pictures can even reveal a compelling nugget that the photographer behind the image never realized was there. It is these instances that can produce the greatest memes, where the photo depicts something that seems unplanned and spontaneously remarkable rather than forced and manipulated. That being said, there is no perfect, established formula to create a popular meme. A point of cultural and social media-fueled fascination over the past decade or so, memes are complex for the variety of ways in which they can capture public fascination and amusement, but also for their multi-faceted, open-ended nature. The confusion around memes stems from a broad, loose definition that enables it to be applied to a photo, video, person, fictional character, quote, idea, GIF or just about anything the endlessly creative web can dream up. Memes, popular ones anyway, are limited only by the expectation that they speak to a wide and cross-cultural populace united by the internet. Today, memes have changed the way we consume all media, particularly that which is live. A slip of the tongue at an awards show lives on in infamy, a la John Travolta’s ‘Adele Dazeem’ malapropism at the 2014 Oscars. Even local news features can grow into global phenomena if they produce an internet-friendly sound byte or clip. Late night talk show hosts, such as Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden, have come to curb some of their segments and the over-all organization of their shows around content primed to go viral the next day. Not all memes are borne out of origins that are as easily recognizable and widely seen as national or even local media. For as quickly as trending internet memes can spread, they often emerge modestly from marginal pockets of the internet like message boards and chat rooms, including 4Chan and Reddit. Some of the internet’s biggest memes had been cycled around online long before they exploded into pop culture awareness. This brings up the two biggest questions surrounding memes: what makes them popular and how did they come to be in the first place. We may never know why some meme’ed messages, such as Bill Murray’s face and “Keep Calm and … On”, are found to be so compelling. But as we continue to wrap our heads around this internet craze, we can take a glimpse into 10 of the most popular online memes and the stories behind them to see what all the fuss is about. Project History & More Info: A friction fire made by the "Fire Plow" method is not as easy as it looks. Practicing with the right woods and techniques is invaluable to being prepared for an actual emergency. I used dried wild hibiscus wood, which in my experience is the easiest wood to do this with. I've heard that dried sotol wood is also very easy. The Samoans say that any type of wood can be used to make a friction fire, and it's important that both sticks come from the same piece of wood. I've tried many different woods and been successful with amazing amounts of smoke, but thus far haven't had any success in developing a coal. It's probably my technique, which I hope I can master over time, but I've found very little information on the subject, and nobody who's actually done it with wood other than hibiscus or sotol.

He pulled a piece of PVC pipe out of the garbage and asked if we could make a project with it. A blowgun was the first idea that came to mind, and quickly snowballed into a really awesome project idea! WARNING: Blowguns should not be pointed at people, animals, or any living thing. Projectiles shot at high velocity may cause deep wounds leading to infection, and/or may cause loss of vision if hit in the eye. They can also break glass and cause damage to property. This project should only be attempted with adequate knowledge, training, and adult supervision. Use caution and common sense. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Project History & More Info: This is an original project idea which came right out of the blue a couple of weeks ago, but is among my favorites already! The blowgun is so simple and cheap to make, anyone can do it, and the best part is it looks completely legit, and can fire with amazing precision. When my 5 year old son pulled a piece of plastic pipe out of the garbage and asked if we could do a project I immediately thought of making a blow dart gun. But to make it safer for indoor use, I tried using paper for ammunition. I rolled up a post-it note, and shoved the tip of a crayon inside to add some weight. When we shot the dart, it flew over 100 feet away at high velocity, making me realize there is a real project here waiting to be developed. I spent the next 5 days evolving different prototypes, and experimenting with different types of homemade ammunition. I let my kids try shooting darts made with nails, but their lungs weren't powerful enough to get the darts to stick into targets, so we use marshmallows instead. The pipe is the perfect width for mini-marshmallows and can still shoot them fast enough to hurt a little, but still safe enough for indoor use. The blowguns can be customized with different color schemes in a way that's so simple it's nearly mind blowing. Many people have asked how to make the precision laser sight. It's just a 2" piece of the same PVC pipe, with 8 screws, as seen in the video. Simply insert the laser, and adjust the screws until the laser is pointing directly at the place where the blowgun hits the target, then make sure the screws are relatively tight so the laser doesn't move.  Have fun and good luck!

Incision & Drainage of an Infected Cyst - Part 1 of 3

03:30
This patient has been seeing Dr Rebish recently because he has had this cyst on his neck which has recently become inflamed and “infected”. I put “infected” in quotes, because technically this is not an infection: When an epidermoid cyst ruptures, it creates a vigorous foreign body inflammatory response - this skin becomes warm, tender, painful, and swells, simulating an abscess. Incision and Drainage (I & D), will confirm the diagnosis of inflamed cyst, when the smelly, cheesy material is evacuated, and this often leads to rapid resolution of symptoms. These episodes are often misdiagnosed as “infection” of the cyst, but cultures are usually negative and antibiotic treatments is not required. Intralesional steroids can hasten the resolution of symptoms as well. All this being said, we often prescribe antibiotics- it’s hard not to when you see something so red and inflamed and painful.. it seems almost cruel not to! Also, we as dermatologists, will just call the cyst infected, or call it an abscess. It’s more difficult to explain to patients why we would not call an area that looks angry and red and is painful non-infected. However, I felt I needed to clarify all of this in detail here, for medical education purposes! Anyway, Dr Rebish had been injecting the area with steroids to decrease the inflammation but he had an appointment with me to finally excise the area because he was fed up with it. When I saw it, we prepared for an excision, but it actually turned into an I & D, the cyst was completely broken down because it had ruptured. After evacuating the area, there was a pretty large empty space which I packed with iodophorm gauze which may decrease the chance for continued inflammation or minimize chance of infection. I saw him a few days later because the area will still draining but was less swollen and less painful. At this point, I decided to pull out the rest of the gauze and just let it heal without it. I feel that the iodophorm gauze was not helping and perhaps worsening the situation. I wish I took a video of this, but I was in a hurry seeing him between patients, so I didn’t have the time! Sorry about that! This may be a more disturbing video for many of you, and I will admit it was difficult for me to do. I don't like draining abscesses. They are ooey and gooey and often smell putrid, and you can see me carefully and gently squeeze and wipe away often. We are wearing splash screens. If this stuff gets in your hair or on your skin it can ruin your day. Especially when it gets in your hair, b/c it stays with you until the next time you take a shower. Luckily none of us get dirty, but this was my last patient before lunch and I had to go home and lie down for an hour or so to recover from this. Has to be done, but no. fun. The PATIENT on the other hand is lovely and I thank him for letting me treat him and film it for all of you to see. At the end of this video, you can see that he was doing much better a couple of weeks after this procedure. No longer having pain or discomfort in the area, and in is minimally swollen and improving every day. We will continue to follow his progress and let you know if anything changes! Biggest Movie Mistakes You Missed

07:17
It's hard to believe these big budget movies like Star Wars & Batman Begins let mistakes like these slip through the cracks... Subscribe To Our Channel http://goo.gl/ho3Hg6 Blockbuster films may be billion-dollar affairs these days, but no matter how big the action and spectacle may get, mistakes are bound to happen. Studios may do their very best to keep those flaws from making the final cut (or erase them entirely in post-production, or re-releases) but luckily for movie buffs, some incredible slip-ups still slip through the cracks. In our experience, we’ve encountered errors or flaws that either aren’t mentioned enough, or simply defy explanation. The filmmakers may have thought their finished film was devoid of all but the most minor flaws, but the following entries show that fans have an eye for detail even some directors lack. Melting Cans With The Mini Metal Foundry

The functionality is founded on ideas I collected while searching the internet for foundry designs. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Background: For as long as I can remember, I've been intrigued by the idea of melting metal and making things with it. The problem has always been that it was out of reach or required really expensive equipment. In this project I experimented with 10 different prototypes, to develop a reusable backyard foundry that melts aluminum soda cans easily and safely. I tested different refractory recipes, different containers, different setting for blowing air, and different types of makeshift crucibles. I tried various ratios of portland cement, sand, perlite, plaster of paris, water, and even kitty litter. For containers, I experimented with clay pots, plastic buckets, no container, cinderblocks, and a galvanized steel pail. I ended up favoring the galvanized steel pail, and a mix of 50% plaster of paris, and 50% play sand, by volume, which was inspired by a video by NightHawkInLight "How to Make a Soup Can Forge" http://bit.ly/IBSoupCanForge Depending on where you get, or find, your materials the cost can range anywhere from $5-$25 per unit. With the materials I used, I was able to make 2 units for under $40 ($20 each). Even on the high end, this is probably one of the cheapest, reliable, backyard foundries that can be made. I used mine to melt soda cans, and extract the aluminum for future metal casting projects. All the soda cans came from a local recycling depot. I bought back 30 lbs from the depot to avoid having to drink gallons and gallons of soda. :) I stored the ingots in various forms, which you can see in the next video, and tried a cool technique for making a little sword by pouring liquid metal into a bucket of sand. I'm planning to make a project video on how to do that in the near future. Thanks for watching, and please share!! :)

Unbelievable Animals That Saved People's Lives

03:49
Top 10 real stories of wild animals and pets saving human's lives Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Other Videos You Might Like Prehistoric Creatures That Still Exist Today https://youtu.be/cJtEGbk_OHc?list=PLXK3uPjJ22FWSlwPkum_jlLtojxm3O8LJ 10 Amazing WTF Wedding Photos https://youtu.be/fDfkdcfrVQI Description: The relationship between humans and animals is both complicated and beautiful. Humans eat animals, but also take care of them as pets. We depend on animals for food as we eat the meat, milk, and eggs. We keep cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, and more as pets. We try to preserve dying species and help save them through reproduction, all while other members of the human race are causing the extinction of some of the world’s most beautiful animals. It’s truly a love-hate relationship, and while we think animals may be dumb and unaware of their human heroes, we are quickly learning that they are paying attention. In this video are some of the most remarkable stories of animals who have saved the lives of humans. From pigs to horses to dolphins, these animals sensed that there was danger and sprang into action before the victim even knew what was going on. Take Lulu the pig as an example. Her owner, JoAnn Altsman had a heart attack and collapsed in her home. Lulu ran to the road and tried to flag someone down. A driver eventually stopped, and followed the pig where they found Altsman unconscious and were able to call for help, saving the pig owner’s life. If it wasn’t for Lulu’s bravery and intelligence, there’s a good chance that Altsman would not have survived the heart attack. They say that animals sense something more than what humans can perceive around them. Perhaps it is due to animals having different brain function and being able to see more than we can ever imagine. Whatever the reason, it has truly become a major benefit for humans everywhere because not only can we protect each other, we also have the support of the animal kingdom on our side, which is a beautiful relationship to have. Feats such as these are also motivators for people to no longer eat meat and start organizations such as PETA. People such as these also see animals as equal partners in life, and don’t perceive humans as being above any other animal in this world or on the food chain. Another remarkable story is that of surfer Todd Endris. He was enjoying his time on his surfboard when he was viciously attacked by a passing shark. Endris gripped his surfboard to his stomach and chest to protect his intestines while the shark tore apart his back. Just as he felt all hope was lost, a pod of dolphins began to attack the shark and circle Endris so he could get to safety. While his back was forever scarred from the attack, he survived thanks to the mysterious heroic dolphins. Finally, in 2004, Amber Mason was vacationing with her family in Thailand when the infamous tsunami hit. Mason was on a guided excursion with an elephant named Ningnong when the wave hit, and the elephant took Mason on its back and turned away from the water, shielding the eight year old girl from sudden peril and death by drowning. The Most Luxurious First Class Airlines

04:35
What are the most luxurious and expensive first class airlines in the world? Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Description: This particular video will probably make you feel really, really poor. But at the same time, will give you a new lease on life and goal to achieve. Flying first class is always an extra luxury that people with money can enjoy in their air travel. You can’t beat first class with the wider seats, the beverages, better food, and service that makes you feel like you’re royalty. If you’re flying across the country, then first class is definitely more comfortable, and you rarely have to deal with the tiny seats and being forced to be in closed quarters with complete strangers. But there are airlines who have taken the concept of first class and bumped it up a notched. Here are some of the most luxurious first class sections in the airline industry. The cost? Well, let’s just say you’ll probably have to save your salary for the next several years to be able to afford it. For $13,000 you can be a premiere passenger on an Air France flight, which includes a space where you can store all of your valuables, along with a bed, a reading lamp, and curtains so you can have some privacy. Quantas Airlines has a set up similar to that and puts it on steroids. If you’ve ever wanted to have the feeling like you’re on your very own jet, Quantas is the way to go with your own privacy pod that comes with its own suite, as well as a common area for wealthy passengers to get together and mingle. This can be all yours for $13,500. Ever wanted to know what it’s like to be tucked into bed by a flight attendant? Well, Singapore Airlines does just that. You’re immediately given pajamas that are designed by Givenchy, and toiletries by Ferragamo. Your seat can also be transformed into a fluffy bed, where the flight attendants will see to it that you’re tucked in and comfy. Tickets for this experience starts at $15,000. For $25,000, you can have the ultimate first class experience with Cathay Pacific Airlines, where you can have your own pod. This includes a chair that silently transforms into a full length bed. The pod is also adorned with a vase with orchids, so you feel a bit more at home and close to nature. Lufthansa has taken the first class game and improved it. Not only do you get a big comfy chair, but you get a bed as well. The chair is pumped with gadgets as well for your enjoyment. You don’t even have to worry about breathing dry air, as the cabin is pumped with a humidifier. Tickets for this experience starts at $27,000. Finally, these last two airlines are basically like flying hotel rooms. Emirates Airlines offers a private cabin with a mini bar, adjustable lighting, as well as a full shower with a marble sink. So if you really need to freshen up, it’s a lot better than the tiny bathroom in coach. They even have a communal lounge where you can enjoy drinks and hors d’ouerves. All of this can be yours for $30,000. Finally, we have Etihad Airways, who have diamond first class suites with three room cabins. These cabins also include a full size bathroom with a luxurious shower. You can even have your own butler! What’s the cost? $43,000. The universe is unbelievably big – trillions of stars and even more planets. Soo… there just has to be life out there, right? But where is it? Why don’t we see any aliens? Where are they? And more importantly, what does this tell us about our own fate in this gigantic and scary universe? Videos, explaining things. How the oceans can clean themselves: Boyan Slat at TEDxDelft

11:22
18-year-old Boyan Slat combines environmentalism, entrepreneurism and technology to tackle global issues of sustainability. After diving in Greece, and coming across more plastic bags than fish, he wondered; "why can't we clean this up?" While still being on secondary school, he then decided to dedicate half a year of research to understand plastic pollution and the problems associated with cleaning it up. This ultimately led to his passive clean-up concept, which he presented at TEDxDelft 2012. Working to prove the feasibility of his concept, Boyan Slat currently gives lead to a team of approximately 50 people, and temporarily quit his Aerospace Engineering study to completely focus his efforts on The Ocean Cleanup. The progress of The Ocean Cleanup can be followed through www.theoceancleanup.com, www.facebook.com/TheOceanCleanup, as well as www.twitter.com/TheOceanCleanup. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

They asked if I could make a video demonstrating crazy science, in a collaboration effort with their channel. Special thanks to inspiration from SteveSpanglerScience for the idea on the exploding Pumpkins: (http://bit.ly/IBExplodingPumpkins), and Fysikshow for the idea of Liquid nitrogen bottle rockets! (http://bit.ly/IBNitrogenRocket) If you check out their videos, please leave them a comment that you came from Grant Thompson's channel and that I gave them credit for the idea :) Thank you! WARNING: This video is for demonstrational and educational purposes only. Each demonstration poses risks and hazards that must be fully understood before attempting, and should only be attempted by professionals. Use of this video content is at your own risk. Project History & More Info: These are some of my favorite projects / demonstrations, and if you’re a seasoned subscriber, you may remember some of this footage from various “Quick Clips” posted well over a year ago. But I imagine for the majority of you, most of these will be new. I was excited to make this compilation to explain what was happening, and hope that you felt the power and excitement of science in action. I’m really excited about sharing the results of my experiments with you. One of my favorite shots in the video was when two separate sodium pieces joined together into one piece, while dancing around on the water. Did you catch that part? I hope my compilation was fun to watch, and educational at the same time. If you felt inspired or learned something new, please like my video and share it with your friends. It will help make them smarter as well. Win/Win! :) Did you make it to the end of the description? Congratulations! Let me know by leaving a comment with the word, "phenomenal" :) See you in the next project video.
